ONCE A MONTH WE WILL HIGHLIGHT A PLANT THAT IS BOTH SUITABLE AND STYLISH FOR THE TRADITIONAL AUCKLAND GARDEN. THIS MONTH OUR PLANT IS :

Viburnum suspensus : sandanqua

This beautiful ornamental shrub boasts mid sized evergreen foliage with a spreading habit and coarse texture. Though a naturally compact forming plant, it can reach heights of around 3m if untrimmed. Native to the northeast islands of Taiwan, the sandanqua produces small waxy tubular white flowers held in tight clusters throughout spring and summer that are over 30mm in diameter, that give way to red berries in autumn. Easy to maintain and great as a specimen plant or manageable en mass, this elegant plant can produce a wonderful addition to your designer garden.
