ONCE A MONTH WE WILL HIGHLIGHT A PLANT THAT IS BOTH SUITABLE AND STYLISH FOR THE TRADITIONAL AUCKLAND GARDEN. THIS MONTH OUR PLANT IS :
Ilex Altaclerensis Hendersonii : Holly
Another attractive Holly that boasts smooth-leaf foliage reminiscent of the gorgeous Ilex largo. An elegant specimen plant with an upright pyramidal form, this gem has clusters of red berries developing early autumn through to winter. This hardy, attractive screening plant is a wonderful alternative to Grisolinia which can also be trimmed into a formal hedge or utilised as topiary.
ILEX Altaclerensis Hendersonii can grow up to 4m if left unchecked, but with a little attention will create a wonderful addition to your designer garden.
