About Me
Your new dream garden starts here.

Welcome to Outlook Landscapes Limited
I'm Dean. I've been designing and building gardens across New Zealand for over fourteen years now, and I still get a kick out of it.
My job is to create outdoor spaces that feel like yours. Not something from a catalogue. Not a copy of your neighbour's place. Something that fits your property, your lifestyle, and the way you actually spend your time outside.
Have a look through my projects to get a sense of what I do. And if you've got something brewing, give me a call. I'm always up for a chat about gardens.

Melbourne Roots, New Zealand Gardens
I'm from Melbourne, Australia. This distinction shapes everything that follows. My career has been built across both countries, and each one has taught me something the other couldn't.
Melbourne does outdoor space its own way. Strong lines and a bit of restraint. Courtyards and laneways where every square metre has to earn its place. Materials picked to age well rather than to look new. Planting that copes with a climate that changes its mind by the afternoon. You absorb all of that living there.
Bringing it across the Tasman meant learning an entirely new palette. Different light, different soil, different plants, a different way of living outdoors. What carried over was the thinking underneath it. The structure, the discipline, the reason every element sits exactly where it does.
Contact DeanWhat is a Landscape Designer?
People mix up landscapers and landscape designers all the time. But the jobs are quite different. A landscaper builds things. Fences, decks, retaining walls, planting. Good honest work. A landscape designer plans the whole thing first. I use CAD software to map out your entire outdoor space. Plants, paths, levels, drainage, lighting. You see the concepts before anyone picks up a shovel.

Outdoor Spaces Designed For Real Life
Expert Design Tailored to You
I design gardens around your routines, not the other way around. Where the sun lands, where the kids run, where you'll have your morning coffee. That's where I start.
One Point of Contact
I handle the whole process. Design, build, coordination with trades. You deal with me, not a revolving door of contractors.
Gardens That Add Value
A well-designed outdoor space makes your property worth more. And more importantly, it makes your home nicer to live in.
